Winter 2011:

Grace finished her first lactation, milking for 18.5 months.  Even though she was still going strong in the milking parlor, we dried her off due to her advancing pregnancy.  For a goofball, the girl sure knows how to make milk!

Summer 2011:

Grace decided not to kid this year so we kept her in milk.  She has now been milking for about 15 months and is giving just shy of a gallon per day.  Not bad for a first freshener that had only a singleton kid last year.

Summer 2010:

Grace is still a clown.  About the only time she isn't fooling around is in the milking parlor.  She milked close to a gallon a day at peak - which is pretty great for a yearling first freshener.  After milking, then it's back to jumping on the Ranger (four wheeler), leading the goats out on browsing walks, and practicing her ear control.

Summer 2009:

Every year we have a kid that is a clown.  This year her name is Grace.  Grace delights us with her antics and has a penchant for getting into trouble.  During our Linear Appraisal she insisted on breaking into the arena and stealing the show, so we put her in the "Prep Pen" where she promptly got her head stuck in the fence and remained there for over an hour.  She was quite content staying there since it was right in the way.  Finally when it was her turn to go into the arena to be appraised we extricated her, and then, just to show us that she can be a serious goat, she scored beautifully!
