| Black Mesa Nutmeg's Nougat (Nougat) Born 3/26/2006 CAE Status: Negative G6S Status: Normal July 2007 update: Nougat is a sweet, friendly girl. She loves to take walks with her people and to get attention. She also likes to play games with her goat buddies. One morning we found Nougat laying down and refusing to get up to eat or drink, her udder was swollen and bruised. We assume that she had been playing a game with her buddies that caused her to hurt her newly forming udder. Nougat has now lost half of her udder, but is still milking well from the remaining half. She loves her animals crackers and raisins that she gets as treats, and really loves to come into the milking parlor. Now that the trauma of her accident was over, Nougat has once again started acting like the goofy yearling that she is, playing games and loving life. June 2006 update: Nougat is the typical Nutmeg daughter. Nutmeg has lots of daughters living here at Black Mesa Ranch. We just love them. They are fun, productive girls. They also like to beg for animal crackers or raisins in the milking parlor, and stand right outside the door to beg for more. Nougat hasn’t acquired a taste for the treats yet, and she doesn’t come into the parlor often, but she does like to stand at the door and beg for attention. How can we resist? We don't even try! |
Nougat at 3 months (and still flying!)

6/8/2007: Nougat suffered an accident late in her pregnancy this spring damaging her udder and resulting in the loss (over time) of one udder half. Kathryn thoroughly photo-documented the process and has put together a special page on the subject.
