July 2007 update:

This girl can make milk!  She loves her turn in the milking parlor and gives David lots of milk for his cheesemaking.  She is a fun girl to milk and when we have people here learning how to milk, Snip is one of the teachers.  She is patient and has wonderful teats that are easy to use.  She milks out so easily and quickly that once we are done milking her we end up waiting on her to finish her ration of grain.  She likes going on browsing walks and hanging out with her people.

July 2006 update:

Snip still enjoys all the games and activities that she loved to do last year and stays pretty busy.  She does, however, find the time to enjoy her newest activity – milking.  We keep having to remind ourselves that Snip is a first freshener.  She acts like an old pro in the milking parlor, and milks like one too.

More background on Lavender (2005)

Lavender is a big, beautiful, sturdy girl. She’s very friendly and loves to cuddle. If we trip over something while outside – chances are that it’s Lavender. She doesn’t want to miss an opportunity to get attention! Lavender, AKA Snip, is really enjoying being a kid at Black Mesa Ranch. Playing King of the Hill on the big dirt pile or logs, rubbing on the fence, browsing out on the range, getting lovin’ from her people. Snip never seems to run out of things to do.
